Ranges in Valorant explained

We present you the Ranks in Valorant well explained

Ranks in Valorant explained are essential in Valorant's competitive mode, for players who want to get serious about the game. Here we show you how to rank up and get to another level !!

The Valorant Closed Beta has been underway for quite some time, and Riot has reached a point where it is comfortable to introduce a competitive / ranked mode to the game. This is for those of you who want to get serious, climb a ladder, and show that you are the best of all your peers.

It's still in its infancy, but Riot has released further clarification on what qualifying mode will mean for Valorant. We have a proper overview of all the ranges and a breakdown of how everything will work. To help you absorb all of this information without any hassle, we have grouped all the key points for you in the sections below.

Stay tuned for more updates as the game evolves over time! New Ranks in Valorant Explained

Valorant: How does the ranking work?

Well, here is a short list of "everything you need to know" to get started.

Complete 20 unranked matches to unlock competitive mode.
8 ranges, 3 levels each, except the upper range, VALORANT.
The queue with groups of up to 5 players must be within 2 ranks.
Rank is not displayed if competitive matches are not played within 14 days, but your rank does not decline behind the scenes.
Closed beta rank does not carry over at launch.

How do I unlock the ranking?

To unlock Competitive Matchmaking, you must complete 20 unranked matches. Once you've done that, Competitive mode will be available to select from the matchmaking menu, so you can begin your quest to achieve the rank of Valorant.

Before you get ranked, you will need to complete 5 location matches. Depending on how those matches were and your personal performances within them, you will be classified. The game generally starts people at a fairly low rank, unless you are exceptionally good and win all your locations easily.

We go into more detail about playing a party below, but it's worth noting that you can't initially queue for ranked matches without everyone having unlocked it. For example, if someone who joins your ranked group hasn't unlocked the ranking, they won't be able to queue.

How do I qualify?

To get promoted in Valorant, you must win games. It's that easy. If you are not winning, you are not going to climb. Even if you have a bad game, as long as you win, you will still earn ranking points. Simply put, losses and poor performances will hurt your rank - losing streaks will really hurt your rank, but wins will always help increase your rank.

As you can see in the image above, there are eight rank levels, each divided into three levels: Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Immortal, and Titrant.

Winning games is the most important factor in gaining rank, and if you perform exceptionally well, your rank will rise faster. Unsurprisingly, losing matches and not performing too well will cause you to lose rank.

Personal performance will have a greater impact early on, but this will decrease in importance compared to victories over time. Additionally, the competition measures how "decisively" you win or lose, so if you perform well and trample the team, the game will know and reward you for it.

Can you reach the rank of Valorant ?

Well, winning and how decisive your games are won or lost will be the only factor measured.

Is there a point system?

There is almost certainly a hidden MMR / ELO system that pairs you up with players with similar abilities. If you win, this will increase, and if you lose, it will decrease. Currently, when you finish a match, you will not have a real indication of where you are on this scale. There is no flashy dot animation, or a ladder to climb - just check your rank under your name and hope you've moved one up, stay the same, and hopefully don't go down.

If you win multiple in a row with good results, expect to go up. Unsurprisingly, if you start to lose quite a few, it's likely to go down.

Can I queue with friends?

If you have a group of companions, you can queue with up to a group of 5 people. However, whoever you are participating with must be within 2 ranges (6 levels) of you. This is to make sure that there isn't someone who is much, much better than everyone else, basically.

Riot also wants to make it clear that if you queue up with a party, the matchmaking system will take this into account and "automatically optimize your game to favor similar pre-made sizes on the opposing team."

What happens if I don't play classified for a while?

Range inactivity will be tracked. If you don't play a competitive game within 14 days, your account will be considered "inactive" and your rank will be hidden. After your first match is re-ranked, it will be visible again. Riot will not lower his rank, he will just hide it until he returns, so fear not if he goes on vacation for a while, he will not suddenly go from Diamond to Platinum.

How is the future of the ranking?

Rounding out Riot's first post on the rankings, progression is the main talking point. You are currently playing with the way to "add a persistent rank progression item that recognizes your competitive achievements for all ranks outside of the match rank display."

It will also be interesting to see if there will be a set of special competitive rules like League of Legends or CS: GO. Will there be a group of maps? Will there be a selection and ban phase before each match? We are excited to find out.

Finally, we imagine that there will be cosmetic rewards for placing at certain tiers at the end of a season as well. Expect special agent skins, weapon skins, and more.

This article has come to an end, we hope our Ranks in Valorant Explained have been helpful to you !!
