How to change region in Valorant is essential if you want to play with players from other countries.

Finally, VALORANT is live. It's finally time to play with your friends, but you are from North America and they are from Europe. Can you still play with them?

In recent months, Riot has slowly transferred all players from League of Legends accounts to Riot accounts, to cater for multiple games, including VALORANT and Legends of Runeterra. As a result, your account will no longer have a region selector on the login screen.




All accounts are now 'region free'. But while this may sound promising if you want to play with your friends, it does mean that you are locked from playing in an individual region.

If you created an account in North America, it will automatically be assigned to the North America region, restricting it to VALORANTE's North American servers. The same goes for your friends. Fortunately, there is a way around this.

How to create a new Riot account

The easiest way to play with your friends from a different region is by creating a new Riot account.

To do this, you will first need to have a VPN, but don't worry, a free trial will do.


Once you've downloaded your VPN and uploaded it, choose the country your friends are playing in (or anywhere in your region) and click here to create a new Riot account.

Once you've created your account, your region will now be locked to the same destination as your VPN, and you should be able to play with your friends.

How to change region in Valorant

You can also try contacting Riot and requesting a region transfer. You can do this by clicking here and submitting a ticket.

If you ask nicely and explain your situation, Riot might reward you and change your region. But don't count on that.

This method means that you will also be stuck in your new region and you may not be able to return to your original server.

How to change region in Valorant?

  1. We go to Riot's support page by clicking here.
  2. Once inside we must make sure that we are logged in with the account in which we want to change the region, we can see this at the top right.
  3.  Now that we are logged in, we go to the section that says "send a request".
  4.  In the type of request we select technical problems: lag update or unexpected closures.
  5.  Well, once inside this tab in Subject we will place: Change of region, select your operating system, in technical problem we place another, where the problem occurs you select in the game, and in the description you will let out your writing skills and you will write what Better than you can a well justified reason why you need to be changed region, I basically put that my Riot account was created while I was in Colombia but I was currently residing in Miami and needed the region change to reduce my ping, however You can come up with a much better excuse and even if you write it in English it can be even more credible.
  6. At this point I must remind you that I am talking about Miami because it is the region with the best ping for Colombia, however you should request the change to the best server for you (for example Brazil).
  7.  Finally, try to add a photo or short clip that shows the high pingand lag you're playing with.
  8. Once all this is finished, we give it to send and we wait for Riot's response over the days, if we are lucky our region will be changed as we asked and finally we can play with the usual ping.
