How to improve your aim in Valorant

Do you want to improve your aim in Valorant?

Knowing how to improve your aim in Valorant is a skill that you cannot miss !! On this page we will provide you with some tips to help you improve it.

First of all, Valorant is a first person shooter game. Despite having skills to use, pulling a trigger is the bread and butter. Most of your time with the game will be spent aiming your sights at enemies and pressing the left button, with or without success. It sounds very simple, but it is actually very difficult to do, especially if you are new to a thoughtful tactical shooter like this.

If you fall for the more unsuccessful side of the marksmanship group, then fear not, because we've put together a series of tips to help you improve your marksmanship. While it may seem like a lot of hard work for a video game, it is extremely rewarding when you start to shoot headshots with ease. It's not just a buff you'll get for Valorant, but pretty much any other shooter too!

How to improve your aim in Valorant

Here are some tips to improve your Aim on Valorant

Update your mouse settings !!

Do you want to take your aim to the next level? Well, you will need to invest in a gaming mouse if you don't already have one. This will allow you to modify your sensitivity or DPI settings to find the perfect cursor sensitivity for you. They also have much better sensors than the usual plastic that ships with PCs, meaning you know for sure that your mouse bumps will accurately translate into in-game movements without glitches.

We highly recommend opening our Valorant guide: Best Mouse Sensitivity and DPI Settings in another tab and reading the first two sections. This will explain why gaming mice are so beneficial, how to disable some annoying Windows settings, and how to adjust their sensitivity to find the perfect one for you.

We also recommend picking up a gaming mouse pad to complement your gaming mouse. It is not good to buy a gaming mouse, but to slide it on an uneven or rough surface. A decent sized mouse pad won't slow you down too much and will ensure your mouse strokes are at optimal precision.

Finally, a large mouse pad is better than a small one in our experience. It will offer a lot more space for each mouse gesture, especially if you are playing games with low DPI.

Customize your point of view

The crosshairs default Valorant will not be cut. Instead, customize one that you are totally satisfied with. There are many settings to adjust its color, size, opacity, thickness, and more. Plus, you can test it out in the training areas to see if it fits your play style.

Valorant: How to Customize Your Sight has you covered on this front, so be sure to check it out before proceeding.

Cross placement is crucial
When we started playing CS: GO, a prominent player named Adam directed us to a video. It's quite old now, but we consider it a timeless classic that will walk you through how to optimally position your crosshair. And of course you're probably thinking CS: GO ?! But this is Valorant? The basics carry over, no matter what game you're playing.

Essentially, it is about keeping the scope at a certain height on the screen and positioning it preventively as much as possible. This means sliding it through a corner as you move, or positioning it such that when you turn the corner it is already aiming at a popular sniper spot in the distance.

All of the principles it outlines are true for Valorant, more than perhaps any other shooter, as he is incredibly similar to CS: GO. Take a look at it and it will transform the way you think about mouse position.

Write down training exercises

Finally, a vital part of improving your goal is practicing, practicing, and practicing more. Now that you have your mouse well configured, you will want to put all your newfound settings to work.

We recommend spending 10-15 minutes at the beginning of each game session, spending time in the training area to hone your aiming accuracy and develop your muscle memory.

Notice how the player above moves his mouse to the center of the screen. This keeps your crosshair position neat and orderly, just as you would like in a match, and also allows you to scroll from right to left optimally.

There are a variety of different training modes and we recommend that you work through a few that will help you practice different aspects of the target.

Be creative too. Practice moving, stopping, and then shooting. Or swinging the mouse forcefully from side to side, or turning a corner and turning toward a target. Anything that challenges you in the beginning will pay dividends the more you practice it.

It's a bit of an effort, but with practice, you'll only get better and better.
